Her multimedia works are part of the
Elizabeth A. Sackler Center
for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum.
is a multimedia artist based in Los Angeles who works in sound, video, and relief painting. Her films and fine art have been screened and exhibited both nationally and abroad. She composes music for her video-art pieces, which are widely exhibited in USA museums, colleges, galleries, and open public spaces. Two dozen of her soundtracks are
available at
AudioSparx.
Her art appears in numerous magazines and journals, including CutBank, Cutthroat: A Journal of Fine Arts, Fiction International, Foliate Oak Literary Magazine, Glimmer Train, Mudfish, On the Bus (Los Angeles), Upstairs at Duroc: Literary & Arts Journal of Paris, and many others.
Luvaas attended New York University, the New York Studio School, and the Art Student’s League. She has taught studio and mural painting workshops at many colleges and institutions. In addition, she served as Director/Curator at Mt. San Jacinto College’s Fine Art Gallery, where she created a multifaceted exhibition program including concerts, readings on two campuses, and weekly film screenings. She now works in her Los Angeles studio full-time producing her multimedia projects.
